Einhell Finland: Automating product data delivery to partners across Finland and the Baltics
About Einhell Finland Oy
Einhell Finland Oy is the Finnish subsidiary of the international Einhell Group, which develops tools and equipment for the home, garden, workshop, cleaning and other applications. Established in 1964, Einhell operates in more than 100 countries and has over 2,700 employees worldwide.
The Finnish organization serves customers in Finland and the Baltic region. Although much of the core product information is maintained centrally by the German headquarters, local retailers require the information in their own languages, structures and delivery formats.
The challenge was therefore not a lack of data. It was the scattered data and considerable amount of work required to transform the available information into something each local retail partner could use.
“Before Pimmix, we spent a great deal of time adapting product information to different retailer Excel templates. Every retailer has its own data structure, so we had to create several versions of the same product information.”

Turning central data into locally ready product information
Pimmix connects Einhell Finland's local operations with the product information available in the group's central ERP and PIM systems. Available product and pricing data can be imported into Pimmix through automated or manually controlled processes.
Once imported, the information is structured according to the requirements of the Finnish and Baltic markets. The Pimmix data model accounts for the specifications, content structures, and other fields required by Einhell Finland's retail partners.
Pimmix also maintains the required data structures, field mappings, validations, and delivery formats for each retail chain. This allows centrally managed product information to be automatically converted into every retailer's required format while continuously adapting to changing customer requirements.
This provides the local organization with one place to manage and enrich the information without changing the centrally maintained source data.
Instead of rebuilding product content separately for every retailer, Einhell Finland maintains the local product information once in Pimmix, where it can then be automatically transformed and distributed according to the specific requirements of each retail chain.

Using AI for content and translations
Information received from the central systems does not always follow the precise wording, structure or language required by local retailers.
Einhell Finland uses Pimmix’s AI capabilities to generate content in requested structures and support translations for the Baltic markets. This helps transform the source information into locally relevant product content while reducing repetitive manual writing and translation work.
Centralizing this work also improves consistency. Product information, translations and retailer-specific content can be reviewed and maintained within the same environment rather than being scattered across separate files.
Managing retailer assortments and data readiness
Delivering the correct content is only part of the process. Einhell Finland must also keep track of which products are sold by each retailer and whether those products meet the retailer’s data requirements.
Pimmix enables Einhell Finland to manage assortments by customer and monitor product data against retailer-specific requirements. This creates a clearer overview of:
- which products belong to each retailer’s assortment,
- whether the necessary product information is available,
- which products still require attention,
- and when product data is ready for delivery.
This visibility is particularly important when introducing new products. Delays in opening products in a retailer’s system can prevent already-stocked goods from being sold and unnecessarily tie up capital.

“Opening new products takes a long time, which is costly for us. If a product is already in stock but cannot yet be sold, it ties up capital unnecessarily.”

CEO, Einhell Finland Oy
Delivering every retailer’s required format
Retail partners do not all receive product data in the same way. One may require a specific Excel template, another an XML file, while others may use APIs, FTP deliveries or their own industry-specific structures.
Pimmix Conversion Hub connects the centrally managed product information with these different recipient requirements. It automatically converts the information into the appropriate structure and format for each retail chain or individual retailer.
The system can then generate and deliver the required outputs through the recipient’s preferred method. The same maintained information can therefore serve multiple partners without Einhell Finland manually rebuilding files for every delivery.
The implementation supports automated product and price information deliveries to retail chains and individual retailers across Finland and the Baltic countries.

“We maintain the local product information in Pimmix, and from there it can be delivered automatically to retailers in the format they require. This has already reduced the amount of manual Excel work and made the overall process clearer.”

Making user manuals available through QR codes
The project extends beyond business-to-business product data distribution.
A dedicated Pimmix View™ environment was created for Einhell Finland so that consumers can access product information and documents directly. QR codes can be added to product packaging, allowing users to scan the code and quickly find the relevant user manuals.
The information and documents are maintained centrally, while Pimmix View provides a simple, mobile-friendly way to publish them for end users. This improves customer service and makes essential product documentation easier to access without requiring consumers to search through a conventional website.

“We asked Pimmix to create an environment from which the required product information and documents can be shared with end-users through QR codes.”

Building a foundation for further automation
The initial objective has been to automate local product data management and distribution while improving the service provided to retailers and end users.
By centralizing product information and maintaining every retailer's required data structures, mappings, and delivery formats within Pimmix, Einhell Finland is also ready to move beyond traditional Excel-based data exchange. As retail partners adopt richer delivery methods such as XML, APIs, and other automated integrations, the same centralized product information can be distributed more comprehensively while remaining continuously up to date.
The same centralized product information can also support additional business processes. Einhell Finland now has the opportunity to use Pimmix Publisher to automate the creation of marketing, sales, and point-of-sale materials for Finland and the Baltic region. Potential future applications also include automated price list updates and other product-driven commercial solutions.
By building these processes around the same product information foundation, Einhell Finland can continue expanding its use of Pimmix without introducing another disconnected source of content.
